Cover reveal: Betrayal – Stories of Historical Fiction

A new Roma Nova story coming soon!

The Idealist is part of an exciting new anthology of historical fiction. Twelve award-winning authors in five countries – the Historical Fictioneers – have pooled their storytelling powers with a collection of tales offering twelve takes on the theme of betrayal. Spanning eras from post-Roman Britain to the present day, the stories bring to life both legendary moments of deceit as well as imagined episodes of treachery.

In The Idealist, you’ll meet Roma Nova’s much-loved Carina and Conrad – Carina in top snappy form – but also discover a dark piece of Mitela family history from the 1840s which could rebound into the 21st century and bring ruin and exile for Carina, her children and family into perpetuity.

In the other stories, you’ll encounter a princes, soldiers, noblewomen, knights, highwaymen, pirates, and ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances. All of these characters have something in common, though – betrayal. Collectively, these stories illustrate the truth that whatever its source – family, foe, lover, comrade – betrayal has devastating consequences.

Hailing from two continents and five countries, the Historical Fictioneers include Judith Arnopp, Cryssa Bazos, Anna Belfrage,  Derek BirksHelen HollickAmy MaroneymeChar NewcombTony RichesMercedes RochelleElizabeth St John and Annie Whitehead.

‘Betrayal’ will be published Nov. 17, 2020, as a free e-book on Amazon, Nook, Kobo, and Apple Books.
