Look out, world, here comes INCEPTIO!

Img_3622INCEPTIO was launched in style on Tuesday evening. How to describe this feeling of elation still with me? Yes, it was hard work, yes, we had the worst March weather for years, but yes, it was fun! And the pleasure generated by the smiles, laughter and enthusiasm on Tuesday is still with me.

They came, they saw, they were conquered, as Gaius Julius Caesar didn’t say.

So, how was it? While my son Philip and critique partner Denise Barnes poured champagne, my wonderful husband Steve took a few photos…

My sincere thanks go to The staff of Waterstones Tunbridge Wells, led by Events Manager, Charlotte Sirman; their patience and helpfulness were outstanding.  And to Sue Cook, not least for travelling from Oxfordshire in the snow and ice, but for  her consistant and enthusiastic support over several years.

  • Lovely!! You must be so pleased. (Not a patch on your PINK SOFA debut though… the snails are still talking about it)

      Salvete helices! And hello, Carol!
Was a fantastic day. I did a presentation (and sold books!) to a business breakfast club at 7am after bashing through a blizzard, collected DS from station, enjoyed birthday cake with DH (his birthday!), then off to Waterstones for the launch.

Truly touched and thrilled at how lovely people were. Nobody fell asleep during talk and Waterstones sold out of INCEPTIO!

  • It looks as if it was a fantastic evening, Alison. I was so sorry that I couldn’t join you.

Sorry, too, you couldn’t be there to share it. We’ve come a long way together on our different paths to publication and I’ve valued the support of friends like you.

What a journey it’s been. Whatever happens in my writing future, Tuesday was the high point for me.

  • Congratulations, Alison. What a fabulous party – and a brilliant way to launch Inceptio.

Thank you, Emma. I think I’ve more or less recovered now. It was, of course, the guests who made the launch so terrific.

There are more photos om my AlisonMortonAuthor Facebook page, (https://www.facebook.com/AlisonMortonAuthor) but these capture the essence of the evening.

A never to be forgotten time.

  • Congratulations Alison-sounds like a wonderful launch!x

Thank you! I felt like a Hollywood star! 😉 People were so kind and waited patiently for me to sign. And everybody talked to everybody else and I think many made new friends.

  • Congratulations on the launch of Inceptio. Looks like the event went swimmingly – here’s to great sales!

Thanks, Henri. We had a ball! I was thrilled so many people came out on an icy and snowy evening. Yes a lot of planning and hard work behind it, but the reward was seeing all the smiles and signing the books.

  • I see what you mean. It looks as if it was a fabulous evening. Congrats :-))

Thank you. It passed in a glorious floaty haze which took two days to dissipate. Not sure it’s entirely gone now.
